It was Fernando Alonso who topped a rain-affected second practice for the 2023 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. The arrival of rain ruined team's usual preparation during FP2, with the usual qualifying and race runs unable to be undertook. Meanwhile, drivers did get their first taste of 2023 machinery in wet conditions, as the dry running provided a jumbled up top four with home driver Oscar Piastri 14th.
